Quality control and consulting: have an expert's delivery reviewed by an independent eye

An expert has delivered a stage, and on screen it seems to work. But is the code clean, are there security holes, are the design files actually usable? Not every client can judge that alone. The quality control and consulting service on Serbest İş exists for exactly this moment: before you approve and pay for a stage, you can have the delivery reviewed by an independent eye.

In short: Quality control is an optional service in which we review whether an expert's delivery matches the agreed scope. You request it from your project page, for a single stage or for the whole project; our team calls you and we agree the scope and fee together. After the check you get a clear report, and approving the stage or requesting a revision is still your decision. If you don't want it, you check deliveries yourself.

What is quality control?

On Serbest İş, payment is made stage by stage, directly to the expert; the platform does not sit in between and takes no commission. In this model, you are the one who says "I checked the delivery and I approve it" at the end of each stage. Quality control means we do that check for you, or with you. We review the expert's delivery against what was agreed in the project listing and the proposal, and explain the result in plain language. The service is entirely optional; everything else on the platform works the same whether you use it or not.

When is it useful?

  • When you can't judge technical work yourself: In software, mobile apps or AI integrations, "it seems to work" and "it was built properly" are not the same thing.
  • For large stages: Before approving a stage that covers a big part of the budget, a second opinion gives you peace of mind.
  • Before the final payment: When the whole project has been delivered, you may want the complete work reviewed once more before approving the last stage.

How it works, step by step

  1. Request: In the "Quality control and consulting" section of your project page, choose what you want us to check: the whole project or a specific stage. Add a short note if you like (e.g. "Stage 2 has been delivered, please look at code quality and security") and click "Request quality control". You can open a request while the project is published, while work is in progress or after it is completed.
  2. We call you: Your request reaches our team; we call you and listen to the project and what you want to be sure about.
  3. Scope and fee: In that call we agree together what will be checked and what it will cost. We don't start without your approval.
  4. Check: We review the delivery against the agreed scope.
  5. Report: We write down clearly what looks fine and what looks missing or problematic.
  6. Your decision: If you're satisfied with the report, you approve the stage and pay the expert. If something is missing, you use "Request revision" on the stage and, with the help of the report, write what needs fixing.

You can follow the status of your request on your project page. While a request for the same stage is still open, there's no need to open a second one; we will be in touch.

How quality control works: request, phone call, scope and fee, check, report, approve or request a revision
Six steps from request to report. The final decision always stays with the client.

What we look at: examples by category

The scope is set separately for each project. These are common examples, not a fixed checklist.

  • Software and web: Are the requested features there and working, is the code readable and organised, are there obvious security issues (e.g. unprotected forms, passwords left in the open), are setup and handover documents adequate, and have you received the complete source code?
  • Mobile apps: Does the app open on the agreed devices and versions, do the core flows (sign-up, login, payment and so on) work, and is everything needed for store submission ready?
  • Design: Is the delivery in the agreed sizes and formats, were source files (e.g. editable vector files) provided, does it look consistent across screens and sizes, and are font and image usage rights clear?
  • Content and translation: Does the text follow the brief, are there language or style errors, does the translation shift meaning or skip sections, and is terminology consistent?

What it isn't

  • Not a guarantee: The check is an assessment of the delivery against the agreed scope; it does not guarantee the work is flawless.
  • Not arbitration: We don't make binding decisions between the parties. The report helps you decide; the decision is yours.
  • We don't hold money: Serbest İş does not hold payments in escrow; you pay the expert directly after approving a stage. Quality control does not change that.
  • The expert stays responsible: The expert who delivers the work is responsible for it, including the tools and AI agents they use. The check does not take over that responsibility.

How is the fee set?

There is no fixed price list for quality control; the fee depends on the stage and the scope. Skimming a simple content delivery and reviewing an app's code are not the same amount of work. We tell you the fee clearly, together with the scope, when we call you. Nothing is charged without your approval, and the service is entirely optional: if you don't want it, you check the work yourself. Basic use of the platform is free, with no commission.

Frequently asked questions

Who can request quality control?

The project owner, from their own project page. A request can be opened while the project is published, while work is in progress or after it is completed; not while the project is still a draft.

Can I request it for just one stage?

Yes. In the request you choose either the whole project or a specific stage. For example, you can ask for a check of only the largest stage or the final delivery.

Will the expert know the work is being checked?

We may need the delivered files or access to review them; we discuss this with you on the call. Whether you share the report with the expert is up to you; using concrete points from the report when you request a revision usually speeds things up.

What if the report is negative?

You don't have to approve the stage. Request a revision from the stage screen and write down what is missing. No payment is made until you approve the stage, and in any case it is you, not us, who pays the expert directly.

Request quality control

Just click "Request quality control" on your project page: go to your projects, open the project and choose the whole project or a stage. We'll call you to discuss the scope and the fee. If you'd like to know more about staged, commission-free payment, read our post on staged payments.
